Finding your colour
How do I know which colour I need?
Check your original paperwork, quote or warranty card for the colour name. On some Colorbond® sheets it’s printed on the underside. For powdercoated frames, the colour name or code is usually on your window or door supplier’s invoice.
My colour has more than one name (e.g. Windspray/Armour Grey) - why?
Some colours are listed under more than one name (e.g. Pale Eucalypt/Mist Green). The official Colorbond® name is always included, but some suppliers use their own equivalent name alongside it. They're the same colour. We list both so you can find it whichever way you know it.
What if I can't find my exact colour?
Contact us with a photo or the closest colour name you know, and we'll help track down the right match.
The product
What's the difference between Colorbond® Match and Frame Match?
Colorbond® Match covers roofing, fencing, gutters and downpipes. Frame Match covers powdercoated aluminium window, door and security screen frames, a different coating type with its own colour range.
What size are the cans?
Colorbond® Match cans are 300g. Frame Match cans are 150g.
How much area does one can cover?
- Powdercoat touch-up paint (150g can): approximately 0.5–0.6 m² per can
- Colorbond® touch-up paint (300g can): approximately 1–2 m² per can
Is this genuine Colorbond® or powdercoat paint?
No. Our paints are colour-matched touch-up paints, made to match Colorbond® steel colours and standard architectural powdercoat colours. They aren’t made by BlueScope, the maker of Colorbond® steel, and they aren’t powder coating, which is a baked-on factory finish. They’re quick-drying aerosol paints designed to blend in with those finishes for touch-ups and small repairs. Older surfaces may have faded over time, so we always recommend testing on a small, hidden area first.
Colorbond® is a registered trademark of BlueScope Steel Limited.
Is it safe?
It's an aerosol paint, so it's flammable. Use it outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, keep it away from heat and flames, and store it out of reach of children. A Safety Data Sheet is available on request.
Using it
How do I apply it?
Shake well, spray in light even coats from about 20-30cm away, let dry between coats. Always test on a small hidden area first.
Do I need to prep the surface first?
Yes. Make sure the area is clean, dry and free of dust, oil and grease. Lightly sanding with fine 220-grit sandpaper helps the paint grip, especially on a glossy or previously painted surface.
Can I use this on bare metal?
Yes, as long as the surface is prepared properly:
- Clean: remove all dirt and dust.
- Degrease: use a standard degreaser to remove any oil, wax or grease until you have clean metal.
- Sand: lightly sand with fine 220-grit sandpaper to roughen bare metal, or to take the shine off a previously painted surface.
- Wipe down: remove the dust and wipe the surface with mineral turps or general purpose thinners.
- Let it dry completely before spraying.
Should I use this on large areas or just small spots?
This is best suited to small scratches, chips or blemishes rather than large panels. Touch-up paint is air-drying and weathers at a different rate to the original factory-baked finish, over time a small spot blends in well, but a large touched-up area can become more visible as it ages. Note that touch-up paint also isn't endorsed by BlueScope and may affect any existing Colorbond® warranty on large-scale work.
Ordering & delivery
Do you ship Australia wide?
We ship to every state and territory except Tasmania. We can’t currently send aerosol paint across Bass Strait, and we can’t deliver to PO Boxes.

Not sure? Pop your postcode in at checkout and you’ll see your exact shipping rate before you pay.
We don’t currently ship to Tasmania.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock colours dispatch within 1–2 business days. Made-to-order colours dispatch within 3–5 business days. Because aerosol paint is classed as a dangerous good, it travels by road, not air.
- Major cities and regional centres: 2-8 business days
- Country and remote areas: 5-10 business days
You’ll get a tracking link by email as soon as your order is on its way.
Can I order more than one colour at once?
Yes. Add as many colours and cans as you need to your cart, and they’ll ship together in one parcel for one shipping charge. Orders over $100 (or $150 for country and remote areas) ship free, so it’s worth grabbing everything you need in one go.
Can I track my order?
Yes. You'll get a tracking link by email as soon as your order is dispatched.
What if my colour isn’t in stock?
You can still order it. We keep our most popular colours on the shelf, and the rest are made to order. When you order a colour we don't have in stock, we order it in for you straight away from our supplier. Made-to-order colours usually dispatch within 3–5 business days, plus delivery time. Each product page shows whether a colour is in stock or made to order.
Can I order in-stock and made-to-order colours together?
Yes. We’ll send your whole order together once everything is ready, so you only pay shipping once. If you need an in-stock colour urgently, place it as a separate order and it will go out within 1–2 business days.
Returns
Can I return paint?
Unopened, unused in-stock cans can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund, less a 10% handling fee. Return shipping is at your cost, and you’ll need to contact us first. Made-to-order colours and opened cans can’t be returned for change of mind.
What if my order arrives damaged or faulty?
Contact us at salessupport@spscreens.com.au within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We’ll replace it or refund you, and you won’t pay to send it back. If a can sprays a completely different colour from the one you ordered, we treat it as faulty.
What if the colour doesn't match
Colours on screen are a guide only, and older surfaces can fade over time, so we can’t offer refunds for colour mismatch unless the can sprays a completely wrong colour. Always test on a small, hidden area first.
See our Return & Refund Policy for full details. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected.
